What is the difference between the F-350 dual rear wheel and the F-450 dual rear wheel?
The F-450 series generally offers greater towing capacity than the F-350, especially for gooseneck and 5th wheel towing. While the F-450 is designed with components for extreme hauling and enhanced durability (wider front axle and larger 19.5-inch wheels), certain configurations of the F-350 — particularly those with dual rear wheel and gas engines — can actually offer a higher payload capacity. Choosing between single and dually often comes down to your individual trucking needs.
What are the key differences between dual rear wheel and single rear wheel?
Single rear wheel (SRW) has one wheel on each side of the rear axle. This option is best suited for light to moderate towing and everyday driving, as it offers better manoeuvrability. Dual rear wheel (DRW) has two wheels on each side of the rear axle. This option is ideal for heavy-duty towing and hauling due to its greater stability, higher towing and payload capacity, and improved weight distribution.
